Some people think starting a family will tie you down. How can you possibly make time for the fun things when you have two full time jobs, being a parent and bringing in the dough? I used to think living a cookie cutter life meant working a nine to five with a decent house in the suburbs and no time for adventure.

But you don’t have to settle!

You can have an unconventional cookie cutter life by cutting out the nine to five, doing what you love, and being your own boss. Starting your own freelancing business or making money as a blogger isn’t as hard as you’d think.

I want to share some tips with you so you can live an unconventional cookie cutter life, like me! You’ll be free to travel near and far, create memories with your family that will last a lifetime, and keep working.

Let’s start with the basics.

When you are your own boss it’s important to stay organized.

Here are some of the resources I use to help keep me on track.
  1. You’ll need a few things for your website/blog: a hosting site like Bluehost and a website builder like WordPress.
  2. Email marketing is a great way to build and maintain a list of potential clients. I recommend Constant Contact.
  3. Once you get that ball rolling and start booking clients, it can get overwhelming if you don’t have a way to keep track of all the projects you’re working on. Trello can help with that.
  4. Then those projects turn into money and that’s where Dubsado can help you keep your finances straight. (It’s FREE for your first 3 clients, and if you use my link you get 20% off your first month! I have some great resources to help you figure it all out, so let me know if you need help!) Dubsado is so much more than just finances, it is a client management program, scheduling program, and your clients even get their own client portal. Super user friendly, professional, and affordable!

Building a business still takes time; your most valuable asset!

Taking classes will not only save you the struggle of trying to figure it all out on your own, but it will also give you more confidence to crush your goals.
